DiskLock 4.0.3 provides several improvements over previous versions. In addition to bug fixes, DiskLock 4.0.3 (as with 4.0.2) includes better performance, AppleGuide help, and the ability to logon as a different user without restarting your Macintosh.
This updater application can update files from the international version of Norton DiskLock Administrator 4.0, 4.0.1, or 4.0.2, to version 4.0.3.
You will need a different updater if you have:
• Norton DiskLock (International)
• Norton DiskLock (US and Canada)
• Norton DiskLock Administrator (US and Canada)
In addition to updating the files in your Norton DiskLock Admin 4.0 Folder from version 4.0, 4.0.1, or 4.0.2, to version 4.0.3, the updater will also install the Emergency Unlock updater application. As there have been no changes to Norton DiskLock Admin Help, DiskLock Admin AppleGuide, or Startup Disk Builder, these files will not be updated. For users of DiskLock 4.0 or 4.0.1, the updater will install the DiskLock Admin AppleGuide file.
To update your Norton DiskLock Admin 4.0, 4.0.1, or 4.0.2 files, to version 4.0.3, follow these steps:
1. Launch the updater.
2. Select the folder containing the Norton DiskLock files you wish to update.
3. Click the Update button. Your DiskLock folder will be updated.
4. The Emergency Unlock updater will be placed in your DiskLock folder (see below).
To update Emergency Unlock 4.0, 4.0.1, or 4.0.2, to version 4.0.3, follow these steps:
1. Make a copy of the Emergency Unlock floppy disk. Don't modify your original master disk.
2. Copy the Emergency Unlock application from the Emergency Unlock floppy disk to your hard disk.
3. Launch the Emergency Unlock updater application.
4. Select Emergency Unlock on your hard disk.
5. Click the Update button. Emergency Unlock will be updated.
6. Replace the Emergency Unlock application on the floppy disk with the updated version.
7. If you created a custom Emergency Unlock floppy disk using Startup Disk Builder, you should replace the Emergency Unlock application on that disk as well.
The updater files are not subject to export restrictions. The US updater will not update the international version.
